Dear Stevens Forest Elementary School Community,

I am writing to inform you that at this afternoon’s Board of Education meeting important information concerning the administration at Stevens Forest Elementary School for the 2019 -2020 academic year was discussed. Effective July 1, 2019, Mrs. Tracey Albright will be assigned as the Principal at Centennial Lane Elementary School.  Mrs. Albright has served in the role of Assistant Principal here at Stevens Forest Elementary School for the past four years, lovingly caring for our students and effectively working on their behalf. Her smile, “can-do” attitude and extensive outreach and relationship building efforts will be sorely missed. Thank you Mrs. Albright, for giving so very freely of yourself. We wish you every success in your new professional home as you create new memories and embrace new friends.

Mrs. Katie Carter will transition from her role as Assistant Principal at Veterans Elementary School to serve in that capacity here as Assistant Principal. We would like to welcome Mrs. Carter back to the Oakland Mills Community. She began her teaching career in Loudoun County, Virginia then moved to the Howard County Public School System. She served as an Instructional Team Leader and teacher at Stevens Forest Elementary School and an Elementary Mathematics Support Teacher at Atholton, Gorman Crossing, Hammond, and Pointers Run Elementary Schools. Mrs. Carter is the mother of two sons. Her husband is also an elementary band and strings teacher in Howard County. In a future communication, information will be shared regarding opportunities to meet Mrs. Carter this summer.
