Concept 2 - Introducing The Zones of Regulation:

This week students learned to categorize their feelings into the 4-colored Zones of Regulation.  A zone is how we feel inside, including our emotions and energy.  Using the colors of the Zones of Regulation makes it easier to understand, talk about, and regulate our emotions.  The Zones are as follows:

  • Blue: Low energy levels and feel sad, bored, tired, or sick.
  • Green: Calm energy level and a sense of self-control. When we are in the green zone, we are happy, relaxed, focused, and calm.
  • Yellow:High energy level and stronger feelings tend to feel frustrated, worried, silly, or excited.
  • Red: Extremely high energy levels and big feelings. We may feel angry, terrified, panicked, or super excited during this time.
