As many of you know, we are fortunate that a new canopy will be built to provide shelter over the front of the school.  That construction is due to begin on or about Monday, October 19, 2015.  Therefore, the morning arrival and afternoon dismissal procedures and the location of the front office entrance will be adjusted accordingly.

Front Office Entrance: The side office door nearest the dumpsters will be used as the entrance to the front office during construction.

Walkers:  During morning arrival, all walkers will be directed to walk around the front and side of the school building as identified on the map.  Staff members will be posted along the route to help students as they make their way to the rear entrance waiting area.  Students will wait in that area under staff supervision until 8:45 when they will enter the building to begin the school day.  PreK and K students will enter the building a few minutes prior to 8:45 as usual.

During afternoon dismissal, students will be dismissed to the rear area to begin walking around the building in the reverse of the morning arrival to then begin the walk home. STUDENTS MAY NOT PLAY ON THE PLAYGROUND AND SHOULD WALK HOME IMMEDIATELY.

Daycare Vehicles: Due to the limited space available during construction, daycare vehicles will join the regular flow of “Car Riders” vehicles in the traffic loop and follow those procedures below.

Car Riders: We encourage all who can walk to do so in the comings weeks.  If you must drive your child to and/or from school, all vehicles will be directed to enter the school parking lot from Stevens Forest Road in a single file and then form two files while in the parking lot.  All vehicles will then form a single file as they round the turn into the new drop off/pick up area.  Students will gather in the “Car Rider” area labeled on the map.  All vehicles will exit as shown and must make a right-hand turn at the exit of the loop onto Stevens Forest Road.
