Students in PK through 4th grade heard the story Heartprints by P.K. Hallinan about how to spread kindness. The book explains that a heartprint is formed when you do something kind or when someone else does something kind for you. We want to continue to encourage our students to build each other up and create a community of positivity.
This week you should have received a pink paper with a paper heart stapled on the corner. We are asking each family to discuss how you show kindness to each other at home. After you have talked about it, we ask that you record your family name and the act of kindness on the heart. Ask your child to return it to school and turn it in to his/her teacher. Each grade received a different color and once returned we will staple the hearts to bulletin boards in the cafeteria and in the hallway; we hope to have a rainbow of colors and many hearts to read!
Please help us fill our school with positivity by taking the time to talk about kindness and fill out a heart.
