“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” (from Winnie the Pooh) The time has come after 30 years in the Oakland Mills community to start a new adventure. I will be retiring at the end of this school year. I want to take this opportunity to say I very quickly fell in love with this neighborhood and the families. I started at Talbott Springs, was briefly at Oakland Mills Middle, and then came to Stevens Forest 16 years ago. I never wanted to be anywhere else but here. I delighted in having parents come through the door at SFES to register their children and realized that those parents were “my kids” at Talbott Springs. Grown up and bringing us their children! This has been my second home for all these years, and I will certainly miss it. You won’t be seeing the last of me though because I will find ways to stay connected to Oakland Mills.
