OMHS Food Pantry

Mon, 02/08/2021 - 12:31pm

The number of families that access the OMHS Food Pantry each month continues to rise. In January, we saw 66 families, which amounted to 340 people in our community that took home boxes of food for their families. We are still in GREAT NEED of donations. Once again, we have mostly cleared our shelves, and we just found out that our monthly allocation from the Howard County Food Bank will be very light. The Pantry needs all the help that we can get. We will be collecting donations on Wednesday, February 10 from 3-5pm at OMHS. Please feel free to share this information on school newsletters, social media, and other methods that you use to communicate with the community. As you do your shopping this weekend, please consider picking up a few extra items to donate. We are especially in need of:

  • dry beans
  • rice
  • macaroni & cheese
  • snacks
  • cereal
  • juice or shelf-stable milk
  • canned/dried fruit
  • raisins
  • canned veggies
  • soup
  • baby wipes
  • diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6)

However, any and all donations will be accepted gratefully. If you prefer to do your shopping online these days, please consider shopping through our Amazon wish list. You can also make a monetary donation which we use to purchase produce, bread, and other perishable items on distribution day.

The next distribution day is Wednesday, February 24 from 3-5pm, weather permitting.

Thank you all for your continued support of the Food Pantry! We would not be able to operate without the amazing community support.
