Parent-Teacher Conferences offer a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your child’s educational progress and to partner with the school. The upcoming November conferences will be held with your child’s English Language Arts teacher. The dates will be November 25-27. The conference sign up window will be open from November 11 until November 22. Please call the front office, if you need further assistance. As always, please feel free to reach out to any of your child’s teachers, if you would like to meet outside of the fall conference window. Conferences/Meetings can always be scheduled at any time during the year as needed.
Parent-Teacher Conference Tips:
- Think about what you want to learn from the conference. Prepare questions:
- How is my child doing in class?
- Does s/he use time well?
- Which learning behaviors do we need to show improvement in? Which learning behavior does s/he excel in?
- Does s/he usually turn in homework?
- Are there missing assignments?
- How well does s/he get along with others?
- What can I do at home to support what you are doing?
- Talk with your child. Ask what s/he thinks the teacher will say. Ask if s/he has any concerns. Talk about likes, dislikes, problems, and successes.
- Ask the teacher to explain anything you don’t understand.
- Be prepared to talk and to listen. Tell the teacher what you see at home. Talk about your child’s interests. Be sure to let the teacher know about anything that might affect your child’s learning.
- Follow up. Stay in touch with the teacher. If you think of a question you didn’t ask, write a note.
