The Community School strategy is underway at Stevens Forest! In the past few months, our Community School Site Coordinator, Ms. Fitzpatrick, has collaborated closely with the Administrative Team and Title I to sharpen our focus on Family-School Partnerships. Our wonderful staff made Welcoming Phone calls to our families to take the first step in building relationships with our parents and guardians as partners. We consulted with HCPSS and Scholastic, who assisted us in executing an assessment of Family Engagement at our school. Our staff and family feedback helped us determine both some short and long-term goals associated with prioritizing family engagement here at Stevens Forest. The goals we have taken steps to achieve so far this year are:

• Restructured elements for both our Parent-Teacher Conferences, as well as our Title I Family Event
• Created our Mystery Reader Program to welcome our families and community members into our school
• Planned our first Family Game Night to foster our positive school culture by engaging in fun and conversation with our children, staff, and other families in our community
• Established Coffee and Conversation opportunities for our families
• Created both an electronic and physical suggestion box
• Increased representation on our Family School Partnership Team
• Articulated the roles of our Family Support Staff with our school community and staff
• Increased school communications in both English and Spanish
• Updated registration procedures to include a Welcome Packet of information for new families
