MESA is a statewide after school program that is designed to engage students in elementary, middle and high school by sparking interest in STEM education and careers. Our 4th and 5th grade MESA engineering students used the engineering design process to create an amusement park ride for a book character. While all teams designed and built a remarkable project, only one team can advance to the district regional competition. This year that team will be Brielle Flores, Alisa Cho, and Anneliese Wood. They built a motorized revolving swing perfect for the characters in the book ‘The One and Only Ivan’. This team will participate in the HCPSS MESA competition on Saturday April 6th. Congratulations to their team and all the other engineers in MESA who worked hard and advanced their knowledge of the engineering design process.
