It’s hard to believe we are almost at the end of the school year, and believe it or not we’re already preparing for next year. As such, I am writing to inform you that our start/dismissal times for 2024-2025 will be different from this year.
Effective Monday, Aug. 26 for the 2024-2025 school year,
our new times will be 8:45 am - 3:15 pm.
Across the school district, 11 schools will have adjusted start times to increase bus efficiency and eliminate single tier buses, alleviate traffic congestion at respective campuses or neighborhoods, and address community and school administrator’s concerns.
Changing school times may present an inconvenience to many parents/guardians as they adjust childcare and work schedules. I know all that goes into managing family schedules and appreciate your collaboration. Considering the challenges we had earlier this school year with transportation, we apologize for the inconvenience but please know that this adjustment was carefully reviewed and is important to maintaining strong operations.
It was critical that we provided this information to you as soon as possible so that you can plan ahead for the upcoming school year. Some adjustments will help ensure we are using our buses efficiently and that transportation costs can be managed effectively, while others are necessary to alleviate congestion during arrival and dismissal.
Following the current school year, new times will be reflected on our school website and on the HCPSS website. I will continue to remind families about the new times this summer and leading up to the start of next school year.

Es difícil creer que estamos casi al final del año escolar y, créanlo o no, ya nos estamos preparando para el próximo año. Por eso, les escribo para informarles que nuestros horarios de entrada y salida para el año escolar 2024-2025 serán diferentes a los de este año.
A partir del lunes 26 de agosto para el año escolar 2024-2025,
nuestros nuevos horarios serán de 8:45 a. m. a 3:15 p. m.
En todo el distrito escolar, 11 escuelas tendrán horarios de inicio ajustados para aumentar la eficiencia de los autobuses y eliminar los autobuses de un solo nivel, aliviar la congestión del tráfico en los respectivos campus o vecindarios y abordar las inquietudes de la comunidad y los administradores escolares.
El cambio de horarios escolares puede presentar un inconveniente para muchos padres/tutores a medida que ajustan los horarios de cuidado infantil y de trabajo. Sé todo lo que implica administrar los horarios familiares y agradezco su colaboración. Considerando los desafíos que tuvimos a principios de este año escolar con el transporte, nos disculpamos por los inconvenientes, pero tenga en cuenta que este ajuste se revisó cuidadosamente y es importante para mantener operaciones sólidas.
Era fundamental que le brindáramos esta información lo antes posible para que pueda planificar con anticipación el próximo año escolar. Algunos ajustes ayudarán a garantizar que usemos nuestros autobuses de manera eficiente y que los costos de transporte se puedan administrar de manera efectiva, mientras que otros son necesarios para aliviar la congestión durante la llegada y la salida.
