Wed, 01/28/2015 - 5:11pm

The G/T Summer Institutes provides interested students with advanced-level instruction and enrichment experiences not regularly available during the academic school year. The curriculum is focused on talent development and provides academically and artistically rigorous activities. Teaching strategies represent best practices in the fields of gifted and talented and arts education.

These two-week, 1/2 day institutes, will take place around the corner at Oakland Mills Middle School.  Session One will run from Monday, June 29th – Friday, July 10th. Session Two runs  from Monday, July 13th – Friday, July 24th.

These are tuition-based classes, but parents/guardians may apply for tuition reduction if they qualify for Free and Reduced Meals services (FARMs) through Food and Nutrition Service.

There are general academic classes, as well as fine arts classes.  Here is a sample of some of the classes - The Elementary Chemist, Code Crackers, Mystery Writing, Forensic Science, Creative Writing, Medical Diagnosis, Drawing and Painting, Construct and Sculpt, and the Painter's Studio, to name a few.

Register early as class size is limited.
