Emails & Text Messages from HCPSS and SFES

Fri, 09/03/2021 - 1:15pm

Are you receiving text messages from HCPSS and Stevens Forest?  Here is some information to assist you:

Parent Subscriptions

Parents/guardians of enrolled HCPSS students SHOULD NOT sign up for, or manage an HCPSS News account. All parents/guardians are automatically enrolled to receive HCPSS and school communication. Subscription information comes directly from the Family File information parents/guardians complete in the HCPSS Connect system.  You can view your emergency procedure card information for correctness in HCPSS Connect. Parents should not re-sign up to receive emails sent via HCPSS News.

Text Messages

To comply with wireless carrier requirements, parents/guardians must opt into receiving HCPSS text message alerts. Standard data fees and text messaging rates may apply based on your mobile plan. If you are unsure if you have already opted in, text the word “YES” to 67587 from the cell phone number on file in HCPSS Connect.

Parents with Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarteners or Newly Enrolled Students

If your oldest/only child just started school, you were automatically signed up for HCPSS News messages in early August from HCPSS and the school your child is attending.

You will be sent a text message to opt-in for text alerts. If you do not receive a text by the time school starts, please view our FAQ on text messaging.

More information can be found on the Howard County Public School System Website.

Non-HCPSS Parents and Guardians (this is a great option for other relatives)

Community members or any non-HCPSS parent must sign up to receive email and/or text messages from the district and/or specific schools. To receive messages, please visit this sign-up page.
