The first day of school for students going into Kindergarten through Fifth Grade is next Monday, August 29th! Students in Pre-Kindergarten will start on September 1st. We are incredibly excited to welcome our new and returning Bobcats to the building.

Backpack Giveaway - SFES will have a backpack giveaway for any student who needs a new backpack on a first come first serve basis. Backpacks will be available for pickup at the front entry of the school on Friday, August 26th starting at 1:45pm right before Open House/Meet the Teacher. Thank you to the Howard County Police Department for their donation.
School Hours
Arrival First Day, August 29th
SFES has a tradition of kicking off the first day of school (August 29th) with all students and staff on the blacktop behind the school. Students should come to school on the first day of school the way they will throughout the school year - bus, walk, car. All parents and students should then walk to the back of the building and gather on the blacktop. There will be cones with the names of the teachers posted by grade level.
Daily Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Most students live within walking distance of the school, SFES does not have space for parking. At arrival dismissal, car loop traffic can get backed up quickly. We recommend that you walk with your student to and from home, or park in the adjacent Stevens Forest Community Center parking lot and walk over to the school entrance to pick up your student if you chose to pick up your child.
Cars will be provided Car Loop tags to ensure student safety and efficiency, please have this posted in a visible location at dismissal each day.
