Starting September 30th, snacks are available to purchase for students in 1st-5th grade at SFES. Children who get lunch from the cafeteria and who bring their lunch from home will be able to purchase a snack after all lunches are served. . Please note that if a family qualifies for free or reduced meals, snacks are available for purchase only-there are no free or reduced price options for snacks. 

Below is a list of the snacks that are available to purchase.

• Pretzels 75￠
• Icee Cup 75￠
• Rice Krispie Treat $1.00

Please read below for additional information and have a conversation with your child about snacks in the cafeteria:

• Parents must discuss acceptable snack purchasing for their children. For instance, is it okay to purchase one snack every day, once a week, or is snack purchasing not allowable for the family? The cafeteria staff will be unaware of the family decision. 
• Children may not purchase snacks for their peers, and snacks cannot be shared (just like other food items).
• Snack sales can either be made by cash or monies available on student lunch accounts.  
• If sending in cash, this must be the exact amount for the one purchased snack, or a bill of $1.00 
• Change for purchased items will be placed back on to the child’s account.  
• Parents have the right to restrict a la carte/snack purchasing for their students. To add restrictions to a food service account (placing a limit or blocking the student’s account for a la carte items), parents may contact the Food and Nutrition Service office at 410-313-6738 or 410-313-6744.  

 A La Carta/ Refrigerios disponibles en la cafetería

A partir del 30 de septiembre, los estudiantes de 1.º a 5.º grado podrán comprar refrigerios en SFES. Los niños que reciben el almuerzo en la cafetería y traen el almuerzo de casa podrán comprar un refrigerio después de que se sirvan todos los almuerzos. Tenga en cuenta que si una familia califica para recibir comidas gratuitas o a precio reducido, los refrigerios solo están disponibles para comprar. No hay opciones de refrigerios gratuitos o a precio reducido.

Los precios de los refrigerios oscilan entre 0,50 y 1 dólar.

Los padres deben hablar sobre la compra aceptable de refrigerios para sus hijos. Por ejemplo, ¿está bien comprar un refrigerio todos los días, una vez a la semana, o no está permitido que la familia compre refrigerios? El personal de la cafetería no estará al tanto de la decisión familiar.

Los padres tienen derecho a restringir la compra de refrigerios o comidas a la carta para sus estudiantes. Para agregar restricciones a una cuenta de servicio de alimentos (establecer un límite o bloquear la cuenta del estudiante para los artículos a la carta), los padres pueden comunicarse con la oficina del Servicio de Alimentos y Nutrición al 410-313-6738 o 410-313-6744.
