Zones of Regulation

This year, students at SFES are engaging in the Zones of Regulation curriculum during their Social Emotional Learning/ Community time (SEL). This week, students learned what regulation is and how it can help. Regulation is being able to control or adjust something to make it work well.  Some things in our body that we can regulate are:  Eating when hungry, drinking when thirsty, and napping when tired.  Other types of regulation can take more time to learn, such as how to regulate our feelings.  To see why self-regulation is essential and how you can help at home, read The Zones Bridge Concept 1 at this link and in your students’ Friday Folder.
